Twenty-eight year old socialite and TV presenter Tamara Eccelestone, daughter of Formula 1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone, is marrying Jay Rutland, a former City trader at an exclusive ceremony in June of this year. Ecclestone’s father is reportedly worth around £2.5 billion pounds.

For the ceremonial first dance at her wedding, she is hoping for a live serenade from Grammy and Oscar-winning singer-songwriter Sir Elton John. “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” or “Your Song” is said to be high on the bride-to-be’s priority list of songs. Tamara Ecclestone is said to be offering the famous musician a fee of one million pounds plus expenses for a live performance of a handful of his landmark songs.

No comment from Sir Elton’s camp

Sir Elton John’s camp has not formally responded to these reports. A spokesman has declined to comment while a source confirmed the fact that no contract had been signed so far. According to this source, Sir Elton is considering the dates but nothing had been agreed upon just yet.

Sir Elton John had performed in high profile weddings before, such as in the wedding of Holly Valance and Nick Candy in LA in October of 2012. Sir Elton usually donates fees from sidelines such as weddings to charity, specifically to The Elton John Aids Foundation.

The multi-awarded and internationally famous recording artist is currently performing in Las Vegas for a three-year stint at Caesar’s Palace called, “The Million Dollar Piano.” Sir Elton John has a scheduled performance at this venue on May 11. Afterwards, he can enjoy a one-month break from performing. Sir Elton will be back on the stage in Switzerland on the 15th of June for the Stars of Sounds Festival.

Sir Elton John is estimated to be worth around £240 million. Sir Elton John and husband David Furnish are raising two sons – Zachary and Elijah.

The social event of the summer

The venue of the three-day wedding is the Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat in France near Antibes. The couple has already booked all 73 luxury accommodations for £600,000 for a three-night event.

The 300-strong guest list is headed by British Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and Sarah Ferguson, the princesses’ mother. The royal guests are going to be flown from the South of France via private charter. The impressive line-up of wedding performers may also include Lionel Ritchie, Jennifer Lopez, and DJ Calvin Harris. American hotel heiress Paris Hilton is also expected to attend the extravagant nuptials.

The bride-to-be

Ecclestone is definitely playing the part of the socialite bride-to-be. She has been seen going to a gym while in New York in order to keep up her workout routine as she prepares for the big day. Tamara is currently in New York City for wedding dress fittings at Vera Wang. The wealthy heiress has an international reputation as a spoiled brat who spends loads of money on night outs with friends.

Tamara got engaged with Rutland in March after just a few months of dating. The Essex businessman and Ecclestone started dating this January.
