South Korean company Samsung, one of the fastest rising stars in mobile technology has recently announced that their 5G data transmission testing was a huge success. According to Samsung Electronics, the tests that have been done gave them wonderful results. For one, connection and transmissions were noted to reach up to a very impressive1GB per second. Unlike the latest 4G LTE, which most consumers are using nowadays, the 5G testing showed that this technology is more than a hundred times faster.

In a statement given by Samsung Electronics representatives, their latest breakthrough in 5G technology is still not yet ready for commercial release. They also added that the earliest time to put 4G in the past and move on to 5G is before 2020.

4G may become obsolete

2008 was the year when 4G came into existence. At that time, mobile users were somehow not satisfied with 3G connection since the bandwidth was insufficient. When 4G was introduced to the market, the wireless race started to flourish to new levels. A lot of users instantly switched to networks offering 4G services especially those who were always on the lookout for the latest technological innovations. 4G certainly gave people a new way to connect and interact regardless of their distance from one another. Just recently, 4G added the LTE capability, which makes transmitting files and connecting to the web a lot faster than it was before.

Something to look forward to

Since South Korean electronics titan Samsung has already notified the public about the existence of 5G, the public will definitely be awaiting the release of this wireless technological breakthrough. 5G connectivity is promising to be the next real big thing in wireless history.

According to Samsung representatives, their 5G development promises massive wireless transference. And to keep up the excitement and anticipation, Samsung also commented that it discovered an alternate and better way to strap up millimeter-wave bands than those already enjoying current mobile technologies.

Download a full movie in mere seconds

1GB of data transfer rate means that a user can actually download high definition movies only in a couple of seconds. This would also mean that real-time streaming in UHD will become possible. Having 5G connectivity, with more than a gig per second of transfer rate means that the options are endless. The only possible problem that might hinder a user to use 5G is the cost. With that massive wireless transfer capabilities, it would sure not come cheap when it becomes available in the future.

Heads up: The UK is only just starting to use 4G

According to some reports, mobile users in the United Kingdom has just started to enjoy the perks of a perfectly functional and useful 4G network since Everything Everywhere, a network company, sprung just last year. Users were exhilarated by the fact that 4G connection was already at their doorstep. However, consumers in the UK were surprised when they came to know that Samsung’s South Korea is now on the verge of using 5G technology.
