On Tuesday, Father’s Day in Spain, what better way to express one’s love to a four-month old infant than to have his name and imprints of his hands tattooed onto your calf. Pretty ordinary? Not if you’re Leo Messi. The world-renowned soccer player, Leo Messi reveals new tattoos to the world via his fans’ Twitter account, @LeoMessifanclub, much to the delight of his millions of followers across the globe.

Two tiny handprints and the name “Thiago” were inked onto his left calf. This is the second major skin artwork of the Argentinian hero. The first one was a portrait of his mother on his left shoulder.

Not the only one

Apparently, Leo is not the only one in his family with a penchant for tattoos. His brother, Matias, is said to have a tat that reads “Number One Fan” and a tattoo of young Leo on his left arm. Barcelona’s all time top scorer took time out of his busy schedule to immortalize his son’s name and handprints on his body. Since Tuesday was Father’s Day in Spain, he thought this would be a fitting gift to his four-month old bundle of joy.

Best player in his generation

Lionel Messi is already a sports icon in his own right despite only being 25 years old. When he first started out in 2004, coaches and sports fans already noticed his great talents and skill.

He has bagged the World Player of the Year award four successive times, earning for him the unofficial title of “best player” in his generation.

Lionel Messi’s ball skills are considered by experts as second to none. He possesses lethal runs from the midfield and is said to be impossible to tackle once his head is down. Messi also possesses amazing balance when running at speed.
