Bayern watched for loose balls patiently and carefully, before suddenly pouncing on opportunities and holes in the opposing team’s game which completely took Barcelona’s backline by surprise. Every member of the Bavarian team had something to contribute; a good example being Mario Mandzukic’s confidence as a striker despite defense from all sides, or Manuel Neuer’s complete refusal to underestimate the opponents despite their commanding advantage late into the game. Football is the kind of game where anything can happen, but Bayern ensured that the same did not ring true for Barcelona.
